Activities @ FAIR School Crystal

These clubs and activities are open to students:  
Fall Play, Spring Musical, All District Band, All District Orchestra, Math Team, Leadership Link Crew, Select Choir, Yearbook Committee, FAIR School Newspaper, FAIR Kicks & Hip Hop Explosion. 

Sign up are available in the main office. In order to guarantee a spot, all forms must be completed and fees must be paid.

Club name: Yearbook Committee (Max. 12 6-8th graders)

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Start date: 11/7/17

Day: Tuesdays after school

Description: Come sign up to learn skills of producing FAIR yearbook. The committee is responsible for the overall content and development of the yearbook.

Club name: FAIR School Newspaper: ArtVoice (Max. 20 4th-8th graders)

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Day: Tuesdays after school

Description: Student writers and photographers will document the ARTS at FAIR School, including performances, classes, and residencies with spotlights on students and staff at our school!

Club name: Leadership Link Crew (Max. 15- 3/per grade level 4-8)

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Day: Wednesdays after school

Description: Discussions and activities revolving around the subject of positive leadership. Possible activities may include, but are not limited to, creating positive posters to hang around school, hand-written thank yous and learning about leadership through first hand experiences.

Club name: FAIR Kicks Girl’s Self Defense/Cardio Kickboxing  Max 12 students -Middle School Only- 6-8 graders

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Description:  Self defense class for girls teaching real life self defense techniques.

Club name: Math Team (4th-8th)

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Day: Wednesdays after school

Description:  The Math Team practices every Wednesdays after school in the media center and participates in at least four competitive programs through the course of the year. Besides the Wednesday practices, there are five meets held on Mondays after school at Saint Louis Park Junior High and Robbinsdale Middle School during the fall and early winter months for MN Junior High Math League and another meet in the February for our second competition, MATHCOUNTS. The team will also practice throughout the year for Math Masters competitions in the spring. The Math Team is an opportunity for those who want to try their hands at challenging math problems in a competitive environment.

Club name: Hip Hop Explosion! (4-5 graders) Max. 12

Cost: $20 per student; $10 for Free/Reduced Lunch

Description:
Come learn the basics of Freestyle Breakdancing with Hip Hop Teacher Miss
Mahler! She will teach you all you want to know about having the confidence to
rock your top rock and show off your power moves!

Activity Bus  
Activity buses are provided for students who participate in after school activities.

Click here for the list of satellite stops.

Buses depart from the  north door at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All activity routes are planned to provide transportation to established satellite stops. Students are to behave in a respectful and responsible manner on activity buses or the following will happen:  

1st bus referral: Warning  

2nd bus referral: Student is suspended from riding the activity bus for the remainder of the season.  Students not riding the activity bus must be picked up right after practices or games.  They are not  allowed to wait for long periods of time because there is no supervision available after hours.   Failure to  make arrangements for pick up may result in disciplinary  action or loss of the student’s place on the  team.    

**Students must be accompanied by a parent in order to attend a game, practice or performance  that they are not directly participating in.
