This is a follow up notice for charging admission for our Stages school plays and musicals.
After much deliberation in trying to keep things status quo, it has been determined that all secondary schools must charge admission to help offset arts programming expenses in order to be in compliance with district policy. Please know that there are school funds budgeted for our musical and plays, but due to the intensive nature of FAIR's involvement with the arts and our partnership with Stages Theatre, the school's budget is supplemented by the district above and beyond what the building is able to provide. Therefore we will be required to charge admission for the spring play and all musicals and plays moving forward.
I know this is a change for our FAIR community, please understand that every consideration was taken to try to keep these productions free for our families and the public.
Going forward, tickets will be sold at an affordable $5 for adults and $3 for students to our theatrical productions, as they are elsewhere in the district. Students will still be able to preview the performances during the school day prior to the opening of the scheduled public performances.
We are currently working with Stages to see if there will be a way to to help alleviate cost for our families that may be experiencing economic hardship. Please stay tuned for more information.
