Robbinsdale Area Schools

Chromebook Distribution Event for 6th graders- new date added!

Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools families,

Your student will receive a brand new Chromebook to use this upcoming school year! This applies only to students entering 6th grade at Plymouth Middle School, Robbinsdale Middle School and Sandburg Middle School or students beginning 5th or 6th grade at FAIR School Crystal. We have two device swap events scheduled, where your student will turn in their old Chromebook and charger, and receive a new device (we will not be exchanging Chromebook cases at this event).

Dates: Tuesday, August 18 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., Thursday, August 20 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and Monday, August 24 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. You do need not an appointment for these events.

Where: Cooper High School (8230 47th Avenue North, New Hope); signage will guide you to the back parking lot near the New Hope Community Gym. We ask families to approach the parking lot from both Boone and Winnetka Avenue to assist us in keeping the flow of traffic moving.

Distribution events for all other students are being planned for the week of August 31, 2020. More information regarding these events will be shared with families soon.

What: This is a drive-through event. Please remain in your vehicle at all times. A parent or guardian will need to accompany their student. Please be ready to turn in your student’s Chromebook and charger when you pull up to stop. If the device being exchanged is damaged or the charger is missing, charges will be added to your student’s account at a later date.

If you do not have a device to return, you should still come to this event to pick up your student’s new device.

You will need to complete and sign a Student/Family Agreement Card (grey card). You can view and print the Student/Family Agreement form here from home. Forms will also be available at the events; you are encouraged to bring your own black or blue ink pen.

Device Protection Plans (formerly Chromebook Insurance)

Beginning August 17, Device Protection Plans (formerly Chromebook Insurance) can be purchased online through our new Infinite Campus School Store. Families can purchase Device Protection Plans for all students in their family in one transaction. Instructions for making a payment can be found on our website.

Thank you for your support as we work to get student devices ready for the upcoming school year.
