2025-2026 MCA Testing

MCA Tests This Spring At FAIR-Crystal

Our school district will be conducting the MCA tests (Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments) this spring. At FAIR-Crystal the Reading MCA is on Monday April 13 and Tuesday April 14; and the Math MCA is on Wednesday April 22 and Thursday April 23, 2026. Most students will test in their Advisory classroom. Grade 8 (only) will also have the Science MCA on April 8-9, 2026, within their Science class period.

As we prepare for these assessments, it is important to review expectations to ensure academic honesty and test security.

Test Security Information for Students

The Minnesota Department of Education expects that all students will follow all state and district policies for test administration. As part of a culture of academic integrity, we are reminding students of the importance of test security and the expectation that students will keep test content secure and act with honesty and integrity during the tests.

When you take your Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments:

  • Do your own best work to show what you know and can do.
  • Do not accept help finding answers to test questions.
  • Do not give answers to other students.
  • Do not tell others what is on the test.

There may be consequences if you do not follow directions, are disruptive, or if you behave dishonestly.

Please note that students will need their fully charged Chromebook, Chromebook charger, and wired headphones or earbuds (not bluetooth or wireless) at school to complete these tests.

Student cell phones, and any wearable devices, will be turned off and placed in their locker or in a sealed envelope with the student’s name on it during the test.

Students may bring water and a book to read if they finish the test early. Our classrooms are silent for the entire testing session to ensure a fair and consistent testing environment for all of our students.

We ask that families support your student’s success by reviewing these expectations with your student. We recommend that students get a good night's sleep and eat well the morning of the test. We encourage all students to try their best in each test.

If families have any questions please see information and parent refusal forms on our Robbinsdale Area School District’s website at: https://www.rdale.org/academics/minnesota-assessments
