Dragon Update: Where's the STEAM

During Q2 at FAIR, 8th graders were given the opportunity to take on cross-curricular work between ELA and Visual & Media Arts with Mr. Murnane and Mr. Gronwall! While designing and producing their own propaganda poster, students were able to display their knowledge of utopian and dystopian literary devices, along with mastery of three chosen "word of the day" words.

The design elements in the poster were set to the Allied Arts standards as well, and this assignment was submitted in both classes simultaneously. Students were able to strengthen their connections in their learning by applying the specific class components through multiple lenses, and they were able to see the overlap that can develop with high-level thinking across classes. As a capstone, many of the students' posters were able to be selected to be on display for the school to admire!
